How have we not got one of these already?

Anyway, who is coming in your ears at the moment?

I’m listening to ‘Cradle’ By The Joy Formidable and I like it a lot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W66yhfMb4d0

I’m listening to the new …Trail of Dead album ‘The Century of Self’ - It might just be better than Source Tags and Codes!

Yeah Yeah Yeah’s - It’s Blitz and Metric - Fantasies. Both rather good

Fully intending to work my way through all the CDs I bought in New Zealand, but the new Bishop Allen album keeps distracting me (because it’s so freaking great. None of the inexplicable low-points of the previous album).

In the few non-Bishop-Allen moments, I’ve been loving Jukebox the Ghost - Let Live & Let Ghosts (stupid album name, but hey, the other two albums I’ve been listening to lately are called “Grrr…” and “Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga” so … at least it has actual words in the title). I always respect pop music that manages to be piano-heavy yet still punchy*, and you should check them out. My internet connection is at dialup speed at the moment so I can’t do all the research for you, but hype machine will be happy help you out. “Hold it in”, “Good day” and “Under my skin” are good songs that I can think of off the top of my head but there are more. I would not recommend the one that’s called something to do with scientists because it sounds just like “Reach” by S Club 7 at the start and then isn’t it. Disappointing.

*Yes, I used to burn myself edited versions of Ben Folds Five albums with most of the slow songs taken out. What of it?

FANFARLO!!!! The album is out and even better than I anticipated. Love them love them love them.

Yeah Yeah Yeah’s album… it’s the classic that they came so close to making with their first two albums in my opinion. I’ve played it twice in a row today.. which is rare for a newly released album. “Zeroes”, “Skeletons”, “Soft Shock” (the accoustic version), “Little Shadow” and “Hysteric” are classics.

Bowlcut Tim Wheeler in lipstick, Prince & Louis Theroux should be very proud wiith themselfs.

i’ve not stopped listening to ‘Zero’ all week. cant wait to get hold of the album. when i havnt been listening to that song i’ve been gorging on the new horrors track, ’sea within a sea’ which is just fantastic. i was never really that bothered with em before and they’ve really suprised me with this one.

Yep, I am officially in love with new YYY’s album.

I was sent a promo copy of the new Scarlet Soho album (which I think is out next week) and I have to say it’s pretty great. They’ve managed to do what few electronic bands do these days - actually write some great pop songs.

Idlewild Live tracks from when I saw them before Christmas. Amazing. They sound literally amazing. Not all shit and all you can hear is the crowd. I’m so cynical for a moment I doubted their authenticity.

The new Jason Lytle album “Yours truly, the commuter” is great, just like a new Grandaddy album. And I’m seeing him on the 28th as part of my 3 nights in a row gig craziness!

I have put off buying tix to see Jason Lytle as I had spoken to the promoter about BC supporting him and it wasn’t ruled out… mind you, not heard anything yet so can assume we wont be! Will have to see if I can afford to get a ticket. Is the album out yet then, Bridge? Or have you acquired it by nefarious means?

It’s out 19th May so nefarious I’m afraid. Would have been amazing if you could have supported! Still tickets on see so hopefuly see you there, I have a fair cambridge contingent down for the evening!

Two albums that I didn’t really think I would be that bothered about but that are both FANTASTIC are the new ones from The Maccabees and The Horrors.

Seriously good. Especially The Maccabees. Is dark and lovely.

Spaklehorse and Dangermouse is pretty amazing, especially the Wayne Coyne and Jason Lytle tracks!
