1. Highlight of 2009?

After six years of working really hard, it was amazing to finally release AWWBLOT’s album on PopArt! To actually have it there in your hands and know that no-one can ever take it away from you was amazing. Touring with Brontosaurus Chorus was awesome… a huge amount of good times (and tired times) were had by all. Going solo as Lost Boy Scout is something I should list here, but to be honest I still find it too terrifying to really enjoy yet!

2. Low point of 2009?

Fucking. Everything. Up.

:oD

3. PopArt moment of 2009?

The performances put in by the All Stars at Bowie-themed all-dayer was something truly special to behold. The performances were incredible!! I wonder if there’s any footage of that?? It’d be a shame if no-one filmed it.

4. Single of 2009?

Me. I became single in 2009.
…I used this same joke last year. The fact that I’ve used it two years running has meant a little piece of my heart just died.

5. Album of 2009?
The Dandelion Killers’ ‘Orphans of the Empire’ is really stunning.

6. Best live band of 2009?

The Pop-Art Allstars. I know I’ve already mentioned it but in terms of value for money entertainment for the kids they rule.

7. Film of 2009?

Watchmen. I’ve watched it far too many times now and I still can’t get enough massive blue wang.
8. TV show of 2009?
I want to say The Wire but I expect everyone will be saying The Wire… I think I’ll go out on a limb and say The Making of Modern Britain.
9. Hero of 2009?

Matthew Pooler (AWWBLOT keyboard player). The man is a rock and without him we’d have all disappeared up our own behinds years ago. It’s only now AWWBLOT has ended that you can see how instrumental he really was to the whole thing… so yeah… that makes him my hero this year because he probably deserved to be it in years past.
10. What do you hope to achieve in 2010?

Recording and hopefully releasing three more solo Lost Boy Scout albums - my brother bet me I couldn’t do four before next August! Plus the return of AWWBLOT splinter group Girls On Film (and the hopeful release of our album!). I’m also hoping to have written and recorded a comedy show by next December - I used to write a lot of comedy and it’s something I want to get back into. If I’ve got time I really ought to try and complete my Masters Degree as well seeing as work are paying for it!!

11. Who else is worth looking out for in the coming 12 months?
I suspect that 2010 will be the year of Zebedy Rays.

12. How will you be spending Christmas?

Drunk and apologetic.

And the End of the Decade Bonus:

13. The Noughties - how was it for you?

Essentially it’s just been one long party and somehow in the midst of it I managed to achieve everything I ever dreamt of and more… it’s funny though but does anyone feel like we’re now living out of time? We were alright in the 90s because we were at the zenith of the 20th Century. Now we’re at the beginning of the 21st we’re just going to get lost in history. No-one remembers the folks at the beginning of a century. God, I’m depressed. :o D
