Well… This morning I have been listening to Electrelane’s latest album “no shouts no calls”, it is quite simply amazing. I do loathe those whole “this sounds like x-meets-y-on-z drug” ways of describing music. But hey… imagine sonic youth at their most succint fronted by kim and kelly deal covering 50s girl groups/loaded-era velvets… and well, you’re not close. It exemplifies all that is good about music. It is poppy and familiar yet ambitious and original. Honest, passionate music with a distinct lack of “nme shockwaves” corporate indie rubbish…
If you care about music then buy this record. Simple.
